“Why did you ask me to accompany you?” Connor asked as you two walked down the streets together, your hands nestled in your pocket. You gazed up, seeing how the sky was turning a burnt orange mixed with pink, signifying the sunset was approaching.

You smiled, shrugging your shoulders. “I thought maybe you wanted to see the sunset?” Connor gazed over at you briefly, his hands kept at his sides. Not uttering a word, you both walked in a content silence.

“Sunsets haven’t captured my attention until I met you,” Connor said after a moment. You turned your eye over to him, intrigued suddenly.

“Really? Why is that?” You asked, moving a few centimeters closer to his side.

Connor sighed, taking a look up at the sky, admiring his colors.

“Because you were the first human I encountered who enjoyed them greatly.”

You weren’t going to lie, that made you mentally go ‘Aww!’, but you remained quiet. Instead, you just muffled a laugh and kept walking.

Nudging Connor’s arm playfully, you saw the bench ahead. “Here we are.” You announced, taking a seat.

You and Connor had known one another a little over two months now, as you met him during an investigation. You knew Hank personally, and when he informed you he had the Android RK800 at his beck and call, you were quite astonished.

Hank Anderson? Dealing with Androids?

You were in disbelief, but when you came to know Connor, you felt an attachment to him. Little did Hank know, you were helping Connor venture out and explore new ideas. Human ideas. He was starting to delve into his feelings, finally realizing he did have emotions in some shape or form.

“Why did you choose this specific bench?” Connor questioned, sitting beside you.

You smiled innocently, gazing onward. The water was open in front of you. Detroit had beautiful scenery to offer. Plus, you adored this spot since you were a kid.

“My mother and I used to watch the sunsets here when I was little… My Dad would meet us with my brother and we’d all watch together.” You beamed at the loving memory. Connor’s LED processed the words you said, apparently the information being engraved into his memory.

“Also,” You blushed lightly. “I had my first kiss here.”

Connor immediately turned towards you. “First kiss?” He repeated.

You nodded your head, biting your bottom lip. “I was sixteen. He and I had just gone out, and we came through this way. When I saw the bench, I asked him if we could sit. So, we did. Turns out, we kissed.”

Connor blinked a few times, registering the words in his head, but he squinted.

Kiss? As in when two people engage physically with their lips?”

His description almost made you snort with laughter. You kept it at a small giggle, nodding your head.

“Yes, Connor. When two people engage physically with their lips. That’s the more… technical description, but you’re on point.”

Connor noted your response, a small laugh escaping from him. You sighed, turning back to see the sun officially beginning to set. However, the kiss topic was about to unfold greatly.

“How does one… kiss?” Connor questioned you in all seriousness. You arched a brow, stretching your arms out on the back of the bench.

“Well,” You inhaled. “You gaze into the other person’s eyes, lean in close, turn your heads, and kiss. Put your lips on the others. The rest comes naturally.”

Connor nodded once. He rested his hands on the tops of his legs, rubbing them as though he were antsy.

Finally, he looked over at you. “Forgive me if I’m rude, but (Y/N),” He met your eyes fully. “Would you mind demonstrating?”

You gasped. “Connor wants me to demonstrate?” You covered your mouth. He rolled his eyes, settling back.

Grasping his arm, you shook your head. “No, I’d be happy to demonstrate.”

Connor smiled suddenly. You sat upright, Connor doing the same thing.

“Look into my eyes,” You said. He did as you said, his brown eyes zeroing in on yours. You noticed the flecks of hazel in them for the first time, smiling to yourself. “Start leaning in slowly.” You instructed, beginning to lean forward. He reflected your motions, carefully leaning in.

“Tilt your head,” You both tilted at the same time.

Just centimeters away, Connor could feel your warm breath brushing along his lips. If he had a human heart, he wondered if it would be pounding at this moment. He took in the sight of you briefly, reminding himself just how beautiful you were.

When you didn’t say anything, Connor was first to close the gap, surprising you for a second. His lips molded into yours perfectly, as if it was the missing puzzle piece. His kiss was gentle, sweet, affectionate.

You moved your lips with him, kissing him back. Out of nowhere, you felt Connor’s hands slowly rest on your hips, as you tangled yours around his neck. A few moments later, you both pulled away.

“Was that sufficient?” Connor asked you quite honestly.

You were almost in a daze but gained the words.

“Connor,” You breathed. “That was amazing.”

He beamed at your approval.

“May we try again?”

Without answering, you crashed your lips onto his, Connor reacting quickly by kissing you harder than before.
