Guweiz Tracing…

Firstly I’d like to clarify, I know tracing and photo bashing are legit techniques, especially when an artist’s job demands producing a high volume of work in little time. I understand. But there is both free and paid stock out there for this, textures and models. I’m just severely disappointed in the young man for lying about the issue when politely confronted and for being dishonest about his process. Even when he was berated for copying kron, I still thought he was growing as an artist.

I was unsure what to do with these overlays and gifs (not all made by me) but I was directed to AG as a good place to post about theft so… here goes

He was certainly inspired by Krenz’s value studies–he even mimics the brush texture, and signature. The image continued off the art and onto the photo

The rest is work from him that he did not label as a study, meaning this is supposed to be his original work. While he did make images different from the original, he should at least be respectful and honest by giving credit when credit is due

It may just be me but tracing and color picking together seem to defeat the purpose of a study. And this is only the tip of the iceberg as he has many, many studies out there that are most likely just traced and then color picked. I had already seen many of the refs he used as I also look at popular images on huaban so it was simple realizing the tracing. I did not look at all of them.

 I am hoping that he does not try to pretend like nothing happened. Honesty is all I want from Guweiz.
